To kick off Comic-Con San Diego 2012, IGN Entertainment, the world’s leading video games media company, is excited to announce Arnold Schwarzenegger as the newest inductee into IGN’s Action Hero Hall of Fame, which celebrates the most memorable action heroes of the silver screen.

Schwarzenegger was honored with the award during San Diego Comic-Con 2012, where he was promoting his latest action movie project, Lionsgate’s The Expendables 2, which hits theaters August 17th. Schwarzenegger’s longtime friend and cast mate Sylvester Stallone, took home IGN’s Action Hero Hall of Fame Award in 2010 as its inaugural inductee.

Cast members from The Expendables 2 celebrated Schwarzenegger’s prolific action career and the upcoming launch of their highly-anticipated film at an exclusive party event hosted by IGN.

“When Arnold said he’d be back, he meant it. He has earned a place in the pantheon of pop culture for bringing to life some of the most memorable characters in action hero history. He was the clear choice for IGN’s Action Hero Hall of Fame Award.” said Chris Carle, Entertainment Editorial Director for IGN Entertainment and co-founder of the Action Hero Hall of Fame program.
