Disney celebrates the Disney Baby Store Opening The Americana at Brand on September 6, 2012 in Glendale, California.

With a warm welcome from the Disney family, actress Alison Sweeney, and expectant military moms, the first Disney Baby Store “arrived” Thursday September 6, 2012 in Glendale, Calif., at The Americana at Brand. The newest member of the Disney family, the Disney Baby brand provides parents with essential products and information they need for “creating magical moments right from the start™.” The premiere Disney Baby Store provides an exclusive array of products to help families celebrate baby’s magical moments throughout the day such as playtime, bathtime, on-the-go, getting ready, mealtime, dressing baby, baby’s firsts, and in the nursery. In addition to the first store, the Disney Baby online boutique launched today at DisneyStore.com/disneybaby, and a selection of Disney Baby products is also available within Disney Store locations nationwide offering families the same high-quality infant and toddler products in popular Disney character styles.

“We launched the Disney Baby line to address the needs of moms looking for superior baby products that also help them celebrate the joys of being new parents,” said Bob Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products.

At the opening celebration, Chapek and Sweeney greeted more than 20 expectant military moms with Operation Shower, a non-profit organization that supports military families by hosting baby showers to ease the stress of deployment. Disney teamed with Operation Shower to honor the new moms and their families by treating them to a magical baby shower and complimentary shopping experience in the new store.

“Disney is such a classic brand, and as a mom myself, I am excited to celebrate the launch of the first ever Disney Baby Store,” said Sweeney. “I am so happy to share this magical moment with everyone, especially the military families who serve our country and make us proud every day.”

On the beautiful lawn at The Americana at Brand, a Disney Baby Magical Moments festival featured Disney Baby products, demonstrations and samples. More than 200 guests enjoyed the magical experience while Blue Sky Riders (comprised of members Kenny Loggins, Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr) performed songs from their upcoming album as well as the Kenny Loggins classic “House at Pooh Corner” in honor of the Disney Baby Store opening. Disney characters, Winnie the Pooh and friends were also on hand to celebrate and pose for photos.
