Led by two Disney-trained Adventure Guides, Adventures by Disney invites guests on the ultimate Southern California adventure with “Lights…Camera…Magic!”
We recently had the opportunity to experience this adventure during a media event. Although all that attended were media and Disney Public Relations Cast Members, we were given the full tour a guest would get. Your day begins by departing from Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, where you will board a luxury motor coach for this one-day excursion. Now this isn’t just any ordinary bus, it is extremely comfortable with your own personal AC (which is very useful on those warm summer days). Our Adventure Guides on this tour were Natalia and Hanneke as well as Don the coach driver.
The first stop is the Hollywood & Highland Center. Here you will see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as Grauman’s Chinese theatre which has an extensive array of celebrity footprints and hand prints. You will have also have the chance to walk around the center and who knows, you might be a star before you leave. Now depending on your tour date, you will have the opportunity to tour the Dolby Theatre, home of the Academy Awards or the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. On our tour we got to see the Dolby Theatre. Now for someone who has never been in that theatre before, I was impressed with the architecture and the vast history that was presented by our tour guide. There are a few surprises along the way which I won’t mention which makes this first stop truly memorable.
After your first stop, the next area of Hollywood you will visit is the Famed Sunset Strip and Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive. Now this is a driving tour, so you will be on board the luxury coach while the Adventure Guides point out such famous spots as Chateau Marmont and Whisky a Go Go. You will also see world-famous shopping destinations on Rodeo Drive which is known for its haute couture boutiques.
By this time you are in no doubt ready for lunch. Next stop, Farmers Market and The Grove. Once you are dropped off, you will have time to enjoy an amazing array of restaurants in an authentic atmosphere. Make sure to bring your appetite, there is a lot to choose from. After lunch, make sure to take a stroll or the short trolley ride to the fabulous open-air shopping center, The Grove, where you will enjoy great shopping, so bring your wallets.
After leaving The Grove, you will make your final stop, The Walt Disney Studios. Here you will enjoy an exclusive tour followed by a special reception in Legends Plaza, where many animators, Imagineers, songwriters, actors and business leaders have been honored. During the studio tour, you might have the opportunity to see some behind-the-scenes of some of today’s TV Shows. You will also get an exclusive glimpse inside the original Animation building where some of the most famous Disney Animated films were made. There are a few surprises along the way as well. After this fun-filled day, you will return to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa where the magic can continue at The Disneyland Resort.

-Annual Passholder price is $189 per adult, and $179 per child (ages 4 to 9)
