The Night Agent is one of Netflix’s most beloved shows, ranking #7 on the Most Popular TV (English) List, reaching the Top 10 in 93 countries and #1 in 87. To date, it has garnered over 134M views* and has spent 13 weeks total on the Global Top 10. The show reappeared on the Global Top 10 for the last three weeks – a testament to the high anticipation by its massive global fandom.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based action-thriller centering on a low-level FBI Agent, Peter Sutherland, whose efforts to save the president in Season 1 earn him an opportunity to become a Night Agent in Season 2. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
The last time The Night Agent fans saw Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), his trustworthy companion Rose (Luciane Buchanan) was by his side. In the Season 2 premiere, however, Peter is sharing a romantic stroll with someone else: newcomer Alice, played by Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow.
After all, as The Night Agent star Basso says, Season 2 will unveil new deadly obstacles for his character. “I think Peter’s trying to find his footing in this new world he’s living in,” Basso says to Tudum. “He hasn’t had time to adjust.” The Season 2 premiere kicks off about nine months after the Season 1 finale with Peter already on a dangerous mission in faraway Thailand. “He’s just not getting an inhale moment — a moment to acclimate,” Basso explains.
