The wardrobe is opening once more — this time in stunning 4K.
Walt Disney Studios has announced that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will make its debut on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Code SteelBook on December 15, 2026, featuring stunning all-new packaging for collectors and fans alike.
Based on the acclaimed 1950 novel by C.S. Lewis, the film is the first installment in the beloved Chronicles of Narnia series. Directed by Andrew Adamson, it stars Tilda Swinton as the White Witch, James McAvoy as Mr. Tumnus, and Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan.
Upon its theatrical debut in 2005, the film became the second highest-grossing film domestically that year and the third highest-grossing movie worldwide. It went on to win the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Makeup in 2006, with additional nominations for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing and Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
The timeless adventure follows four siblings — Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter — who stumble through a magical wardrobe into the world of Narnia, a once-peaceful land of talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs, and giants that has been plunged into eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan, the children lead Narnia into a spectacular climactic battle to free it from the Witch’s glacial powers forever.
