Look who’s returning to the Big Apple — Hello Kitty is set to soar at the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a brand-new giant character balloon, Sanrio announced on Tuesday October 13, 2026.
The new balloon features Hello Kitty holding a vibrant red apple — a playful nod to New York City’s iconic nickname — and marks her return to the parade for its centennial march.
Exclusive Macy’s Capsule Collection
To celebrate the milestone, Sanrio and Macy’s have launched an exclusive Hello Kitty and Friends collection, available only at Macy’s. The 23-piece capsule captures the new balloon design across curated apparel, accessories, and home goods, including:
- Women’s and girl’s apparel
- Loungefly backpack and bag charms
- Kidrobot plush bag charm and pin set
- Seasonal décor from Blue Sky Clayworks
The full collection is available starting today on the Macy’s website, and arrives in-store at the Macy’s Herald Square flagship in New York on October 15.
