Explore Acclaimed RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3D on New Nintendo 3DS XL

NewN3DS_XenobladeChronicles3D_case_pkg01

Two giant titans frozen in time. All over their bodies, armies of humans and machines engage in epic battles across vast lands. Unlikely hero Shulk, equipped with an ancient blade, sets off on a magnificent adventure to put an end to this generations-long war once and for all. This enticing scenario sets the stage for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, a stunning hand-held remake of acclaimed Wii role-playing game Xenoblade Chronicles that can only be played on the New Nintendo 3DS XL system. Available now, the game uses all the enhanced features of New Nintendo 3DS XL, including camera control with the C Stick, face-tracking 3D and the new ZL and ZR buttons. The massively robust RPG is perfectly suited for portable play on New Nintendo 3DS XL, allowing players to take the game with them wherever they go and hop in and out whenever they are ready to dive into the unforgettable adventure.

“New Nintendo 3DS XL owners will not want to miss out on this hand-held version of an amazing game,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is simply enormous in scale, but is perfect for portable play on New Nintendo 3DS XL, and a must-have for any and all fans of open-world role-playing experiences.”

The main story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D revolves around Shulk, who many will know as a playable character in the recent Super Smash Bros. games. The game reveals the origins of Shulk and uncovers the secrets behind his mysterious blade called the Monado. As Shulk journeys across two giant titans, he and his unexpected party of memorable playable companions will traverse varied worlds full of all different kinds of beasts – some friendly, some … not so friendly. The numerous open-world environments contain hundreds of side quests, treasures and hidden areas, and come to life with the face-tracking 3D of New Nintendo 3DS XL.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3D game includes a deep yet intuitive battle system that finds players battling in real time, as opposed to turn-based battles employed by traditional role-playing games. During battle, characters automatically attack as long as they are next to a targeted enemy. By moving freely around, players can select between a series of upgradable special abilities known as “Arts,” adding a layer of strategy to each battle. These abilities can be customized to match the players’ fighting style or chained together for truly devastating attacks.

As players complete quests, defeat enemies and even explore new parts of the world, they will earn experience. Experience is used to level up Shulk and the party, as well as earn new arts and increase strength and other stats. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D features a sophisticated character customization and upgrade system that allows players to change equipment, improve their characters’ performance and even experience a fascinating relationship-building mechanic that influences character interactions. While the customization and upgrade options are numerous, they offer many options for hard-core players, as well as easy-to-learn systems for players new to the genre.

Using Collection Mode – a new mode exclusive to Xenoblade Chronicles 3D – players can look over a number of animated models of both enemies and allies in the Model Viewer, or listen to the game’s incredible soundtrack in the Jukebox – even when the New Nintendo 3DS XL system is closed. These models and songs are unlocked by using in-game tokens, which can also be obtained by meeting other players via the StreetPass feature, spending Play Coins or tapping a Shulk amiibo figure (sold separately) to the touch screen of New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is now available exclusively for New Nintendo 3DS XL in stores, in the Nintendo eShop and at Nintendo.com at a suggested retail price of $39.99. For more information about the game, visit http://xenobladechronicles3d.nintendo.com.

Players can overcome challenges and help various characters solve everyday problems with the help of Yo-kai friends. These eccentric Yo-kai resemble anything from inanimate objects to mythical creatures.

After the 2013 launch in Japan, the Nintendo 3DS game became a top seller and was well-received by both critics and players. Along with the anime and manga, the YO- KAI WATCH phenomenon evoked wide-spread popularity and demand for the brand among children.

New “Tangled: The Musical” Stage Show Aboard Disney Cruise Line

In November 2015, the endearing characters and captivating music of the animated film “Tangled” will enchant audiences once again, this time as an original stage show spectacular at sea aboard the Disney Magic—the first time the beloved Disney tale has been adapted for the stage.

“Tangled: The Musical” will immerse audiences in Rapunzel’s fairytale world through lavish production numbers and spellbinding music. Three new songs created exclusively for this show by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater will bring the story to life onstage.

The show will stay true to the storyline from the hit feature film—with a few special twists to create a live staged production—featuring favorite characters like Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, the villainous Mother Gothel and Maximus the police horse.

The story follows the thrilling adventure of Rapunzel as she escapes the confines of her tower and the clutches of Mother Gothel, who wishes to shield the secret of Rapunzel’s magical golden tresses and royal roots. Rapunzel strikes up an unlikely friendship with the suave, crown-stealing bandit Flynn Rider, and together they face ruffians, thugs and a budding romance on a hair-raising journey filled with classic Disney playfulness and whimsy that will delight audiences of all ages.

New Songs Debuting with Film Favorites

Acclaimed composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and lyricist Glenn Slater, the prolific pair behind the original soundtrack for “Tangled,” teamed up again to adapt the score and story for the stage. Complementing the score from the film, three new songs weave a delightful combination of narrative, humor and theatrics into the performance.

In addition to new melodies, audiences will enjoy live performances of favorite songs from the movie, including “When Will My Life Begin,” “Mother Knows Best,” “I Have a Dream” and the Grammy Award-winning ballad, “I See the Light.”

Adapting “Tangled” from Screen to Stage

Elaborate costumes, groundbreaking puppetry and stunning set designs transform the 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre into a fanciful Bavarian kingdom, immersing audiences in Rapunzel’s world and making them feel a part of her story. Disney assembled an all-star creative team to develop this extravagant production, with director Gordon Greenberg and choreographer Connor Gallagher joining Menken, Slater and a bevy of top-notch theatrical talent.

Master puppet designer Michael Curry, whose extraordinary creations are featured in Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical “The Lion King” on Broadway, is breeding a brand-new pedigree of puppetry in Maximus, the rambunctious police horse whose exaggerated demeanor becomes even more hilarious with the addition of the whinnying puppet performer within. This cleverly constructed character is sure to be the “mane” attraction of every scene he steals.

Dazzling costumes created by Tony Award-winning designer Paloma Young will bring the flair and vibrancy of the animated world to life onstage in “Tangled: The Musical.” The townspeople’s bright hues and Rapunzel’s feminine florals are perfectly balanced by the bristly browns of the rugged thugs and royal regalia of the kingdom officials, creating a sensational fusion of colors, patterns and textures.

Remarkable set designs by scenic designer Bradley Kaye (Disney’s “Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular”) will transport audiences to storybook locales that include Rapunzel’s tower home, the outlandish Snuggly Duckling tavern, a brightly adorned kingdom town and the resplendent lakeside setting of the iconic floating lanterns scene from the film.

New Show Joining Line Up of Exclusive Stage Productions

“Tangled: The Musical” complements the line-up of Disney Cruise Line-exclusive live entertainment performed every voyage aboard the Disney Magic, joining “Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” and “Disney Dreams… An Enchanted Classic,” which will feature a new segment from the blockbuster animated hit “Frozen” beginning in summer 2015.

“Tangled: The Musical” will premiere during the Nov. 11 four-night Bahamian sailing aboard the Disney Magic. The Disney Magic will sail four-night Bahamas and five-night Western Caribbean cruises from Miami beginning Sept. 30 through the new year.
