There’s a new reason to head to Batuu. Starting today, October 5, 2026, Savis Workshop – Hand-built Lightsabers is debuting a new series of its “Protection and Defense” hilt theme, alongside upgraded lightsaber chassis and blade effects — and it’s available at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
The New Protection and Defense Hilt Theme
In the latest series of the “Protection and Defense” hilt theme, builders can forge a custom lightsaber featuring striking white finishes and rich gold detailing. Adorned with mysterious ancient Jedi iconography, each lightsaber celebrates the optimism and grandeur of the High Republic while honoring those who dedicated themselves to protecting others — a reflection of a time when the Jedi Order stood as a symbol of peace and hope across the galaxy.
Upgraded Chassis, Blade, and Kyber Crystals
The upgrades go beyond the new hilt. Every lightsaber chassis and blade — no matter which hilt theme you choose — has been enhanced with brand-new features, including an all-new thermal cutting effect, a spinning effect, and deflection effects, plus upgraded audio quality and smoother blade activation for an even more immersive build experience.
When paired with special “cracked” Kyber crystals, builders can also unlock a color-change effect with a quick flick of the wrist — showcasing the inner battle between the light side and the dark side of the Force.
Price and Reservations
The Savi’s Workshop experience is priced at $249.99 at Disneyland and $274.99 at Walt Disney World, plus tax. Purchase is required, and Disney highly encourages advance reservations for the experience at both resorts.
