Just launched from Disney Interactive for iOS and Android devices, My Muppets Show has players joining Kermit, Animal, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the Muppets to create their ultimate band in this free musical builder game. In My Muppets Show players collect and recruit popular Muppets, place them on stage to create songs, and put on the show of a lifetime.

OUR REVIEW (by Chris Mankser, Entertainment Editor): First I’d like to start off saying that for a free App, it looks amazing! It sort of reminds me of The Simpsons Tapped Out but on stage with music. However, there is a problem with this game. It’s the fact that almost every time I exit the app to check my mail or something small, I have to sit through a lengthy load screen. I hope this is resolved in an update because I didn’t like the fact I had to wait each time when I wanted to play. Putting the loading aside, the game is actually pretty fun. I can see how people who play The Sims or Simpsons Tapped Out can become easily addicted to this game as well since its a similar concept of building and maintaining characters. The whole idea behind this game, I felt, was to earn some diamonds and coins by doing tasks that Scooter has for you such as feeding the characters and making them happy.

As you progress in the game and add more characters you might find yourself going a little crazy with the repetitive music. Luckily there is a mute switch you can place on the each character. You could always turn the volume down on your device as well. Another similarity between this game and The Simpsons Tapped Out is that there are waiting times when you build or in this case digitize a character. You can use diamonds to speed up the process though. I found myself spending diamonds quicker than I could accumulate them and I almost bought more diamonds but I held back because I personally don’t like paying for items like that. Parents beware of in-app purchases if your children know your password or if your credit card is linked to their account. I did notice that once I added the first few characters and started to “jam out” the progress of the game quickened and I was able to obtain items faster. Over all I think the game is great for kids of all ages. It can be rather addicting and Disney did a wonderful job designing it. I don’t personally see myself playing this game as much as others since I’m not really into this type of game play.
