Production has officially begun on Star Wars’ first live action series, The Mandalorian. To kick things off, creator Jon Favreau has given fans their first look with an exclusive image from day one of production.

The show is set after the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and will take place before the rise of The First Order. In the shambles of the fallen Empire, fans will follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Far from the authority of the New Republic, anything goes. The series is written and produced by Favreau, who will be joined by a wide array of directors to bring the new show to life and into this galaxy. Dave Filoni, creator of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and the new show, Star Wars: Resistance, will be the director for the pilot episode.
