The Walt Disney Company Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger announced that “Moana 2,” Disney Animation’s all-new feature-length sequel to 2016’s Oscar-nominated film, will be released in theaters in 2024. “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise,” said Iger, “and we can’t wait to give you more of Moana and Maui when ‘Moana 2’ comes to theaters this November.”
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic animated musical “Moana 2” takes audiences on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui, and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Directed by Dave Derrick Jr. with music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina, “Moana 2” opens in theaters on Nov. 27, 2024.
Disney+ has announced that “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” which is the concert film in its entirety for the first time and includes the song “Cardigan” and four additional acoustic songs, will make its streaming debut on March 15, 2024, exclusively on Disney+.
The history-making, cinematic experience from 14-time GRAMMY®-winning artist, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” directed by Sam Wrench, grossed more than $260 million worldwide at the global box office, making it the top-selling concert film of all time.

National Geographic has announced the second season pick-up of LIMITLESS WITH CHRIS HEMSWORTH, following the global superstar as he unearths the transformative secrets of improving our lives and unlocking our greatest potential. The second installment comes hot on the heels of a hugely successful first season that inspired millions to explore how to live better longer.
In season one, Hemsworth pushed the limits of his body and mind to discover how fasting can unlock the body’s anti-aging power, how to manage stress so it doesn’t kill you, and how exposure to extreme temperatures can trigger our bodies’ defenses against the killer diseases of old age, all in a quest to live a longer, healthier life. The announcement was made today by Bob Iger, Chief Executive Officer, of The Walt Disney Company, during the company’s first quarter earnings call for the fiscal year 2024. The upcoming season will feature the return of Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, who will embark on a new adventure based on “The Sea of Monsters” – the second installment of Rick Riordan’s best-selling “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” book series, published by Disney Hyperion.

Be still, my beating heart—Message in a Bottle is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. This is a dance-theatre show, with a story told using only dance, minimalist props, and the music of Sting. This show tells the story of one family—a father, mother, and three teenage children named Leto, Mati, and Tana—as they grapple with the very real experience of displacement from their homeland. The show is a critical reminder of the millions of refugees forced from their homes, especially since millions of them are children.
We begin with the family in their homeland, dancing to “Desert Rose”, blissfully unaware of what is to come. High-energy leaps and B-boy floorwork excite your senses. The parents are joyful, as their oldest is marrying the love of his life. But suddenly—bombs. The booms and flashes resonate through the theater, shaking the dancers and the audience to their core. Appropriately set to “King of Pain”, soldiers come to imprison the family and forcibly remove them from their homelands. “Fragile” began to demonstrate their suffering. As the family experiences grief, loss, and PTSD, they soon become split up and must learn to navigate their new world on their own.
Act 2 elaborated on the three journeys the teenagers would take, leaving behind the last semblance of their previous life in their home community and assimilating into their new lives elsewhere in the world. Though the future seems dismal and isolating, hope glimmers on the horizon for each of our protagonists.
Interestingly, the Playbill does not specifically call out which dancers play which roles in the show. However, the performances are so frenetic that most appear to have opportunities to perform solos. I will say that the standout performances were the aforementioned “King of Pain”, “The Bed’s Too Big Without You” due, in part, to the portrayal of post-traumatic nightmares, “Roxanne” for the overall movement on the stage, and “So Lonely” which uses a very cool shadow projection effect to portray the feeling of reminiscing about those you miss.
This show is truly something special—with great music, pacing, choreography, and energy. The story brings joy, sadness, fear, and even guilt at times…serving as an evocative look into the global human experience through a lens not often used. Without uttering a word, the dancers can tell an amazing tale through the phenomenal choreography of Kate Prince, and of course, the worldly and imaginative music of Sting. Don’t leave an empty chair in the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, buy your ticket to this amazing experience of a show.

Good Grief! The year has just begun and Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating in the best way possible with the return of the Knott’s Peanut Celebration! Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and all his friends are waiting to ring in another year of thrilling entertainment, fun one-of-a-kind exhibits, delicious food, and much more!
Right as you enter the park, you can’t help but notice Knott’s Berry Farm is dressed up and ready to party with unique dazzling displays, photo-ops, and countless party balloons. Each land also adds its own special flair, with some of our favorite decorations being these really clever Peanuts-themed silhouettes found throughout The Boardwalk.
With the park’s glitz and glamour all prepared, guests will get the opportunity to experience a multitude of exciting entertainment offerings that will bring your favorite Peanuts characters up front and center.
When thinking about your favorite Peanuts characters, it’s impossible to forget Franklin Armstrong and in perfect Peanuts fashion, guests visiting Knott’s this year will get a chance to visit a special exhibit dedicated to Franklin down at the Calico Town Hall.
For those familiar, this is an exhibit that was first introduced at San Diego Comic Con in 2022, giving fans a glimpse into the history of Franklin, as well as the cultural impact and inspiration that has led to The Armstrong Project, a special scholarship program designed to honor and create opportunities for black artists. Visitors will also find Franklin waiting to welcome them in a special meet and greet in the center of Town Hall.
Just across the street, guests will also find two special Peanuts-themed events taking place at The Birdcage Theatre. Peanuts Sketch School will give aspiring artists of all ages the chance to pick up a pencil and learn to draw their favorite Peanuts characters, while Charlie Brown’s Trivia Challenge will provide visitors a chance to test their Peanuts knowledge and have a chance to bring home some special prizes.
If that’s not enough, head down to Pigpen’s Pig Pen, where Pig Pen has rustled up some of his favorite barnyard friends to say hello. Part of the exhibit features some of Knott’s newest additions, newborn piglets. They are so adorable and will bring a smile to all who visit.
Meanwhile, the Calico Mine Stage will be home to some of the best the Peanuts Celebration has to offer, with two amazing showstoppers from sunup to sundown. The first, It’s Your Life Charlie Brown, brings the ever loveable Charlie Brown to the center stage for a celebration of friendship, memories, and plenty of dancing.

Once the sun sets, Snoopy will take the stage with Snoopy’s Legendary Rooftop Concert. The Peanuts gang will share the spotlight with the indie band, The Jelly of the Month Club, bringing the house down with a concert that will get you up on your feet! (Due to the rain, we were unable to participate in this nighttime spectacular, but thanks to our friends at Knott’s, here’s a quick glimpse of what’s in store!)
If that strikes up an appetite, Knott’s Peanut Celebration has you covered with some delicious offerings, featuring some cheesy and savory additions. Mac and Cheese is the theme this year, and with it, come some unique flavors that are sure to fill your comfort food needs and then some. We had the chance to try some savory and sweet pairings this year, with the first being Marcie’s Alfredo Pasta Pinwheel.
This delicious pasta infused bread roll is the perfect shared snack and comes with a delicious alfredo dipping sauce. This is a popular item among guests and sells out quick, so make sure to visit Prop Shop Pizzeria before they’re gone! (It can take up to an hour to whip up a new batch, as we discovered upon our visit).
For lunch, we stopped by The Ghost Town Bakery to try Franklin’s Mac and Cheesy Noodle Cheddar and Broccoli Soup. We soon found out that the bakery did have Broccoli Cheddar Soup, but did not seem to know about the seasonal offering during our visit.
Though tasty, we recommend checking with information to make sure you can secure this cheesy offering. For anyone with a sweet tooth, there are still plenty of fun options, including the return of this fan favorite, the Charlie Brownie.
Festively dressed in the iconic Charlie Brown icing, this chocolate treat is a perfect snack to recharge during your visit. It certainly has us wondering what’s in store for this year’s future offerings, including the fan favorite, Knott’s Boysenberry Festival.
Whether you are there for a few hours, or want to enjoy the park from open to close, there are plenty of exciting memories to be made at this year’s Peanuts Celebration.

“The king has returned” to Segerstrom Center for the Arts and is ready to begin a new reign with the triumphant arrival of Disney’s The Lion King. The crown jewel of Disney Theatrical’s long list of legendary productions, among the likes of Frozen, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast, this production stands in a class all its own and proves once again that The Lion King is the true ruler of Broadway.
Celebrating over two decades of unforgettable performances, The Lion King has never ceased to wow and amaze audiences the world over with ease. This show is by no means an exception, transporting me right back to where it all began with the rising of the sun over the African savanna.
Old Rafiki is there to show you the way, guiding you through a production that encapsulates nothing but exquisite beauty and wonders through every fluid body motion, every fiber of fabric layered into each costume piece, every beat of the bongo drum as it echoes across the halls and up into the upper balcony. You will feel every laugh, cry, and cheer right from the very first note.
This particular performance of The Lion King was a very personal one for me and created an experience that I’m certain will be shared with many who will have the opportunity to see it for themselves. Mukelisiwe Goba’s powerful rendition of the classic, “Circle of Life”, sent shock waves, transporting me to 2004 and resurfacing the memories of a starry-eyed high school student visiting San Francisco with their fellow pre-college program students to see their first Broadway production.
That very first show set the gold standard for all other performances I would experience, and created an emotional connection to the brightest parts of my soul, a connection that once again was felt in full force seeing The Lion King at Segerstrom, delivering something so rare and precious in a world filled with countless forms of entertainment and nostalgic callbacks.
The Lion King was able to deliver something fresh, fun, and surprising, yet something also familiar and timeless, paving a path to that very first viewing and bringing me right back to that seat all those years ago. Twenty years felt like twenty seconds, and without a doubt left me in awe to the very end.
A lot can be said for this particular production, whether it be Gerald Ramsey’s Mufasa, evoking familiar feelings of triumph, joy, and ultimately sorrow, or Peter Hargrave’s chilling and charming rendition of Scar that crafts a performance that is “to die for”.
They are not alone, as the dual performances of both Mason Lawson and Jaxyn Damasco as Simba and Nala alongside their adult counterparts, Darien Sanders and Khalifa White, were nothing short of spectacular. Sanders especially, ruled the stage, pouncing on every opportunity to bring the audience to a roaring applause.
These standout performances are only lifted that much higher by an ensemble of truly gifted background performers and puppeteers that breathe life into the stage with their seamless movements and elegant displays of acrobatics, bringing the wild beauty of The Pride Lands front and center for all to enjoy.
As one would expect from a Disney stage production, The Lion King also brings the entire songbook of Elton John and Tim Rice out to play with the classic favorites like “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, in addition to the Broadway ballads “They Live In You” and “Shadowland”.
The Lion King takes nothing for granted, giving you everything you love from the original animated classic and generously gifting us so much more with a culturally distinct love letter to the African roots that allowed The Lion King to spring and take its place in the Great Circle of Life.
The Lion King will play Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at
2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM, including Premium Ticket Packages, which include a prime seat location, a souvenir program and a cinch bag.
