Disney Shatters Emmy Nomination Record with 98 Kids & Family Nods

Breaking all records and dominating the industry, The Walt Disney Company has received 98 Children’s & Family Emmy® Award nominations across its content brands and studios: Disney Branded Television, Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television, Lucasfilm Ltd., Marvel Animation, Marvel Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios. Disney+ is the ultimate streaming destination for kids and families, home to 80 nominations.

20th Television and Disney Branded Television’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is the most-nominated series overall with 16 nods, including Young Teen Series and nominations for Supporting Performers Adam Copeland and the late Lance Reddick, as well as Younger Performer Leah Sava Jeffries. 20th Television’s “The Spiderwick Chronicles” secured 13 nominations, including Young Teen Series, Lead Performer Christian Slater and Younger Performer Noah Cottrell.

CinemaCon 2025: The World’s Largest Theatrical Convention Welcomes Back Major Studios

CinemaCon, the world’s premier showcase of theatrical exhibition hosted by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), today announced that all of the major Hollywood studios will be on hand to showcase their upcoming theatrical slates when cinema owners gather next year at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from March 31 – April 3.

Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures/Focus Features, The Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures will all preview their upcoming theatrical releases, while for the first time, Amazon MGM Studios will join the CinemaCon main stage studio presentations at The Colosseum of Caesars Palace, with additional programming to be announced.

This holiday season, set sail aboard the Queen Mary for twelve nights of festive magic during the spectacular Queen Mary 12 Days of Christmas event, running from December 12th through December 23rd, 2024. Each evening offers a unique holiday experience and activation, ensuring something new and exciting to discover every night. From a whimsical Snow Day and a Krampus-themed celebration to Breakfast with Santa and festive scavenger hunts, this one-of-a-kind event is perfect for making unforgettable holiday memories. The nearly two-week celebration begins on December 12th with the Lighting of the Stacks ceremony, where guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Christmas socks and join in the festivities. As the ship’s towering stacks light up the night sky, visitors will enjoy live entertainment, seasonal treats, and the chance to bask in the holiday spirit aboard one of Southern California’s most iconic venues.

Steve Caloca, Managing Director of the Queen Mary, shared his excitement, saying, “The Lighting of the Stacks is a magical way to kick off the holiday season. Each night of our 12 Days of Christmas brings something new to experience, making it the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories with loved ones.”

Adding an eerie twist to the festivities, the second day of Queen Mary Christmas on Friday, December 13th, invites guests to Krampus After Dark. This chillingly festive evening features Krampus-themed activations, a Q&A with the writer of Krampus, and a Spooktacular Bazaar showcasing unique creations from local artisans.

For families, December 19th is a must-see with the Snow Day & Train Ride, where the area in front of the ship will transform into a snowy wonderland. Formerly the site of the summer Night Market, this space will now host a magical winter experience complete with frosty fun, perfect photo opportunities, and an iconic holiday train ride, making it a day to remember for all ages.

Other highlights include Breakfast with Santa on December 14th and 21st, where families can enjoy a delightful meal and photo opportunities with Santa himself. December 14th also features the White-Out Winter Wonderland Market, where guests can explore artisan vendors, enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, and decorate cookies with Santa’s elves. For adults, December 15th and 19th bring a creative twist with Brushes and Bubbly painting sessions, alongside festive activities like Eggnog Tasting. On December 20th guests can participate in a cozy Blanket Making Class and Holiday Bingo.

In addition to the unique nightly themes, every evening of the 12 Days of Christmas includes holiday favorites like cookie decorating, gingerbread house building, and stocking decorating. Families can cozy up in one of the ship’s festive salons or sip on steaming cocoa from the Hot Cocoa Bar. Little ones will love story time with Mrs. Claus in the Starboard Lounge, while dance parties and carolers spread cheer throughout the ship.

Caloca added, “From carolers strolling the decks to eggnog tasting and the quirky fun of Ugly Sweater Karaoke, every night of the 12 Days of Christmas offers something special to enjoy for all ages.”

Defy Gravity with Wicked Sing-Alongs This Christmas!

Universal Pictures has announced Christmas Day sing-along screenings of Wicked, as the box-office phenomenon continues its record-shattering theatrical run. More than 1,000 theaters throughout the United States, Canada and select international markets will host interactive sing-along screenings, which will feature on-screen lyrics and a special introduction from stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

The announcement arrives as Wicked continues to shatter box-office records, becoming the highest-grossing Broadway musical film adaptation in domestic box-office history, surpassing a benchmark held by Grease for 46 years.

Featuring Grammy and Oscar® winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz’s songs from the generation-defining stage musical, the film’s groundbreaking soundtrack has made history, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. With more than 270 million global streams, it has achieved the largest streaming week ever for a stage-to-screen musical film soundtrack and stands as the No. 1 soundtrack debut of the decade. A special sing-along version of the soundtrack will be released digitally on December 20 through Verve Records/Republic Records, coinciding with the theatrical sing-along screenings.

Disney Scores 35 Golden Globe Nominations

The Walt Disney Company has announced 35 Golden Globe® Award nominations across its content brands and studios, including The Walt Disney Studios (Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures), Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television, ABC Entertainment, FX, FX Productions, Hulu Originals, Marvel Television and Searchlight Television.

Disney’s streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu are home to a total of 23 combined nominations. Hulu garnered 19 nominations, including nods for Hulu Original “Only Murders in the Building,” FX series “Shōgun” and “The Bear,” leading all television series with five nominations, and ABC’s “Abbott Elementary.” Disney+ received four nominations for titles including Marvel Television’s “Agatha All Along.”

The Golden Globes® has announced the nominees for the 82nd Annual Golden Globes®, which will air live on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).* Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut presented nominees for each of the 27 award categories at a press conference at the Beverly Hilton.

The Golden Globes®, often referred to as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year®,” is the largest awards show in the world to celebrate the best of both film and television. Multi-Emmy Award®-winning producing duo Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment (WCE) will return as executive producing showrunners for the 82nd Annual Golden Globes®. For a limited time, eligible Southern California residents can save on the purchase of a three-day, one-park per day ticket for as little as $67 per person, per day, for a total price of $199.*

These tickets are on sale now for visits Jan.1 – May 15, 2025, any day of the week, based upon availability and subject to park reservations. This three-day ticket can be redeemed on consecutive days or on separate occasions across these winter and spring dates.
