Disney+ has released the trailer for “The Simpsons” all-new holiday special “O C’mon All Ye Faithful,” premiering December 17 exclusively on Disney+. Derren Brown guest stars in the holiday special, which also features musical performances from Patti LaBelle and Pentatonix.
The Christmas-themed double episode is launching timed to the 35th anniversary of “The Simpsons” original Christmas special which aired on December 17, 1989.
Famed British mentalist, Derren Brown, comes to Springfield and uses psychological tricks and showmanship to raise the town’s Christmas spirit. CinemaCon, the world’s premier showcase of theatrical exhibition hosted by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), today announced that all of the major Hollywood studios will be on hand to showcase their upcoming theatrical slates when cinema owners gather next year at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from March 31 – April 3.
Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures/Focus Features, The Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures will all preview their upcoming theatrical releases, while for the first time, Amazon MGM Studios will join the CinemaCon main stage studio presentations at The Colosseum of Caesars Palace, with additional programming to be announced.
“We are thrilled and honored to welcome back all of our studio partners, with the addition of Amazon MGM Studios to this coming year’s CinemaCon line-up as a clear sign of support of the theatrical moviegoing business,” said NATO President and CEO Michael O’Leary. “This powerhouse line-up of the world’s greatest film-making studios speaks directly to the cultural and economic power of the cinema.
Our friends in the studios know that movie fans want to see the magic they make on the big screen, and they also know that movies that start their journey in the theatre are more successful than those that do not. We applaud their commitment to theatrical exhibition and look forward to an amazing week seeing all the great stories they are bringing to movie fans in the year ahead.”
“We are grateful for the continued support from the studios, filmmakers and stars, vendors and of course our NATO members, the theatre owners,” says CinemaCon Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser. “We’ve got some exciting surprises and changes in store for next year’s CinemaCon and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Las Vegas.”

When one thinks of a show to experience during the holidays, most theatres will go to the security of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Well, take respite with Chance Theater standing out to perform a show unique enough during the jolly season yet still relies on the spirit of relationships and compassion.
Jane Austen’s endearing novel “Emma” is faithfully translated to the delight of literature and music lovers. Taking place at rural England in early 1800s, one’s social position is determined by economic and social life. The story deals with social class, the role of women, courtship, and marriage of the time. Emma Woodhouse (Mandy Foster), an ambitious but misguided matchmaker, sets off on comic entanglements and heartwarming discoveries within a scattered web of manipulation and unbridled ambition.
She takes more interest in matching others than her own personal well being. Her determined eyes draws attention to her latest project in her dear friend Harriet Smith (Sadie Alexander). Emma’s attempts face challenges with Harriet falling for another prospect not aligned with Emma’s plans. Even Emma dodges and flusters over her own minimal love life. George Knightley (Jeff Lowe) ridicules yet admires Emma’s disposition. Equally strained by his estranged familial relationship and perplexing desire to Emma.
With its witty dialogue, charming score, and beloved characters, “Emma: The Musical” promises an unforgettable holiday experience for theatergoers of all ages. A sparkling glass full of rousing qualms. The show is a sophisticated masterclass engaging in a whirlwind of enticing intrigue. Emma’s cheeky meddling is the sort of splendid fun wanted in a romantic comedy. Book, lyrics, and music by Paul Gordon. Directed by Casey Long. Music directed by Lex Leigh.
Jane Austen’s Emma: The Musical is playing between November 29 – December 22, 2024 at the Chance Theater in Anaheim, CA. For more information including ticket sales, visit www.chancetheater.com
