Are these alien visitors here to save us or hurt us?  What are their intentions after arriving on Earth?  What is the shocking truth behind the visitors – or V’s?  The reimagining of the highly popular 1980s miniseries attempts to answer these questions.

V: The Complete First Season tells the story of Earth’s first alien encounter.  The visitors — human-like beings who know our languages and provide other-worldly gifts of technology and healing — arrive on massive motherships hovering over 29 major cities worldwide.  Some consider them saviors in this post 9/11 world; others feel differently.  A fledgling resistance is on the rise, determined to reveal the shocking truth.

“V proved to be one of the most exciting new shows on TV with its plot twists, special effects and constant action,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. “As the number one show in its time period among Adults 18-49, Warner Home Video is delighted to bring this reimagined classic to DVD and Blu-ray™.”

V: The Complete First Season stars Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Morris Chestnut (Ladder 49), Joel Gretsch (The 4400), Logan Huffman (America), Lourdes Benedicto (24), Laura Vandervoort (Smallville), with Morena Baccarin (Heartland) and Scott Wolf (Everwood). Season one of the series was produced by The Scott Peters Company and HDFilms in association with Warner Bros. Television, and executive producers included Scott Rosenbaum (Chuck, The Shield), Scott Peters (The 4400), Steve Pearlman (Related), Jace Hall (Chadam), Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) and Jeffrey Bell (Alias).

V is a visually pleasing Blu-ray release that will certainly please most sci-fi fans. This remake of the 80’s cult favorite lacks the character of the original, but its production values and strong cast more than make up for that.
