There’s nothing consumers won’t like about Warner Home Video’s (WHV) release of Nip/Tuck: The Complete Series, available in stores November 2, 2010.  The eye-catching collectible gift set, released just in time for the holiday season will feature all 100 cutting-edge episodes of the Golden Globe® and Emmy Award® winning series, plus hours of bonus materials.

Nip/Tuck explores the lives of doctors Sean McNamara and Christian Troy, two talented, hot-shot plastic surgeons whose initial query of patients, “Tell me what you don’t like about yourself,” sets the stage for a series filled with secrets and deception. As close friends and business partners who own an overwhelmingly successful plastic surgery practice, they attempt to bring inner peace and visceral contentment to their patients through external cosmetic surgery procedures.  Although their clients aspire to cover up their pain, it is the surgeons who truly wear the masks of anguish, unhappiness and disillusionment.  At midlife, the doctors question the prosperity that has brought them so much and yet has offered so little.

Over the course of six seasons, Drs. McNamara and Troy confront issues in their careers, families and romantic lives. First set in Miami’s South Beach and later moving to Los Angeles, the show’s cutting-edge stories range from funny to suspenseful to uncommonly powerful. Surgeries are graphically bold and sexuality is rampant.

Nip/Tuck stars Dylan Walsh, Julian McMahon, John Hensley, Roma Maffia, Kelly Carlson and Joely Richardson.  From The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series was created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Popular). Executive producers for all six seasons include Murphy, Michael M. Robin, Greer Shephard, Lyn Greene & Richard Levine, Sean Jablonski, Jennifer Salt and Brad Falchuk. The series premiered in July 2003 on the FX cable network and, since its debut, the show has exploded to critical acclaim and earned multiple awards, including a Golden Globe® Award in 2005 for Best Television Series – Drama.

Guest stars from all six seasons include Vanessa Redgrave, Gilles Marini, Portia de Rossi, Rose McGowan, Mario Lopez, Bradley Cooper, Morgan Fairchild, John Schneider, Jennifer Coolidge, Jacqueline Bisset, Larry Hagman, Alanis Morisette, Mo’Nique, Rosie O’Donnell, Brooke Shields and many others.

“From the moment Nip/Tuck premiered, it was clearly destined to become a revolutionary series.  Viewers stayed captivated season after season with the show’s compelling storylines and powerful acting performances, not to mention its outrageousness and unpredictability,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. She added, “We anticipate this gift set to be well received by both gift givers and gift recipients this holiday season.”

The complete series box set simply compiles all seven DVD sets previously available (season five was split into two volumes, because its halves were separated by almost a year because of the writer’s strike in 2008) and puts them in a big, shiny silver box. The individual boxes that contain each season are identical to those that were available separately, as are the contents, with all special features, including deleted scenes and production featurettes, included.
