The newest addition to The Disney Designer Collection Ultimate Princess Celebration is the Ariel Doll! Making waves and stepping onto the shore, Ariel has surfaced on shopDisney as the final doll in this illustrious collection.
Designer Rocío Cintrón discovered a personal resonance with the story of The Little Mermaid, finding a parallel with Ariel: the longing to be part of two different worlds, while celebrating Latinx culture as an American. This limited edition, carefully crafted doll was inspired by the very moment Ariel emerges from the sea, adorned with aquatic designs in a shimmering purple dress.
There are additional Disney Princesses available on shopDisney as well, each from very different kingdoms. The New Orleans-inspired Tiana doll by designer Cathy Clark-Ramirez is fused with bold art deco embellishments, a perfect match for Tiana’s determination.
Designer Richard Chan was inspired by nature when conceiving the woodland flower-themed dress for Sleeping Beauty’s forest maiden Briar Rose. Designer Heidi Ticehurst celebrates Belle’s Kindness and courage with a delicate sweeping dress, adorned in a deep red fierce enough to face any beast.
No need to wait until the last-minute or for the clock to strike midnight when choosing a Holiday gift with these brand-new, beautiful dolls – now available on shopDisney!

As the Guardians in Marvel Studios’ The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special undertake a mission to create an unforgettable holiday for Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, animators at acclaimed Stoopid Buddy Stoodios brought their talents to the Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation to make it equally unforgettable for viewers.
In striking, hand-drawn sequences that bookend the wildly popular new The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which debuted Nov. 25 exclusively on Disney+, animators at Stoopid Buddy helped create a previously unknown story in a style that echoes nostalgia for late-20th century pop-culture that’s a Guardians of the Galaxy hallmark.
“Right from the start, James Gunn said he hoped to emulate the Ralph Bakshi style that was popular in the 1960s and ’70s, and there was no way to cheat it – it had to be hand-drawn rotoscoping,” explains Mac Whiting, lead animation supervisor on The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. “After seeing the animation test, Marvel arranged for us to be involved with the live-action shoot in Georgia. James and the Marvel team made the experience a real bucket-list item for any animator and fueled our desire to make the animation in this project as special as it deserved to be.”
Whiting and his Stoopid Buddy team used the live-action footage to draw each frame by hand – a feat they were able to achieve in just over two months.
While Stoopid Buddy is widely known for its stunning stop-motion animation work, which has included Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. as well as its Emmy® Award-winning Robot Chicken series, traditional hand-drawn animation is a growing field for the company. Still, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special represented a singular challenge that Stoopid Buddy co-founder Matt Senreich says they couldn’t resist.
“James entrusted us with a tremendous vision,” Senreich says. “When we produced an initial eight seconds of test footage with Michael Rooker as Yondu, we knew we could match that vision, and, through animation, bring something entirely new to Guardians of the Galaxy. Stoopid Buddy is incredibly proud to be associated with it.”
Stoopid Buddy produced the animation for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in association with Victoria, Australia-based Studio Moshi, ensuring a round-the-clock production pipeline to meet the deadline that would get the special to Disney+ in time for a very special holiday for Marvel fans.
“This has been one of the most exciting and creatively challenging projects I’ve ever been a part of, especially due to the demanding nature and high volume of hand-drawn animation, but the results are more than worth it,” Whiting says. “Fans are going to be watching this holiday special for many years to come, like so many of the specials we grew up with.”
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Segerstrom Center of the Arts will once again be home to one of the most iconic holiday staples of the ages with the triumphant return of Tchaikovsky’s, The Nutcracker. A production as iconic and as beloved as the season itself, The Nutcracker sparks a wondrous sense of joy and cheer, giving audiences the perfect gift this holiday.
This limited engagement will mark the seventh time that the prestigious American Ballet Theatre troupe has brought the iconic story of The Nutcracker to Segerstrom, with this year’s production being one that’s impossible to ignore, breathing a new life into the timeless classic through the brilliant styling and magical musings of Alexei Ratmansky and his incredibly talented and diverse ensemble.
American Ballet Theatre’s rendition of The Nutcracker has an everlasting spirit, leaving the audience with a warm feeling of holiday magic that you will want to experience time and time over, making it so abundantly clear why this version of the holiday tale has become such an Orange County staple.
It all comes to a symphonic peak with an over abundance of sensory delights formed from a mix of Tchaikovsky’s powerful melodies, brilliant new costumes, and a dazzling dance of sets that are just as awe striking as the very dancers that float across the stage beneath them. The use of practical effects and transitions, tied with forced perspective and quick illusions makes the entire experience invigorating, generating a cinematic element that is sure to impress.
The Nutcracker’s technical prowess comes from Tony Award Winning designers in lighting through the talents of Jennifer Tipton, and the colorful and whimsical costume elements of Richard Hudson. It’s a perfect match that sets this production apart from its predecessors.
They are joined with the music of the Pacific Symphony, who deservedly received multiple rounds of roaring applause for their enchanting renditions of The Nutcracker’s classic score, being a core pillar of the production’s charm through every melody. Pacific Symphony really sets the tone, giving every opportunity for ABT’s ensemble to shine bright and clear.
Yet, the highest of praise has to come to the wonderful and spectacular duo of Devon Teuscher and Jon Won Ahn, who bring their all as the dream world counterparts to Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. Their chemistry is unmatched, loving, and joyous to behold, filled with a decadence that rivals that of the sugar plums they frolic through on their adventure through their dreamlike trance.
The Nutcracker will have 12 dedicated performances for guests of all ages between December 9th and December 18th in Segerstrom Hall. Tickets start as low as $29 and can be purchased through Segerstrom’s official site, or at the Segerstrom Box Office. Here’s a look at the full slate of performances below!

“Brahmāstra” – the Trilogy, is a three-part film franchise, and the beginning of India’s first original universe, The Astraverse. It is a new, original cinematic universe inspired by deeply rooted concepts and tales from Indian mythology but set in the modern world, with epic storytelling of fantasy, adventure, good vs. evil, love and hope; all told using cutting-edge technology and never-before-seen visual spectacles.

The most powerful and the deadliest amongst these divine weapons, the Lord of all the Other Astras – named after the most powerful weapon of the Gods, the Brahmāstra, is now waking up, and it threatens to completely destroy the universe we know today.
“Brahmāstra Part One,” is the story of Shiva – a young man and the protagonist, who is on the brink of an epic love, with a girl named Isha. But their world is turned upside down when Shiva learns that he has a mysterious connection to the Brahmāstra… and a great power within him that he doesn’t understand just yet – the power of Fire. In the movie, we follow Shiva’s adventures as he journeys into the world of Astras and in turn, discovers his destiny as the divine hero of the universe.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The movie is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and is produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Ayan Mukerji.

HILTON ANAHEIM SEASONAL HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES
The festivities kicked off on Monday, November 14 with the 11th annual tree lighting ceremony in collaboration with the local Orange County nonprofit, Eli Home. On display in the Grand Lobby is Christmas Tree Lane– trees donated and decorated by local Anaheim community partners that are auctioned off in early December. Proceeds from the decorated trees are donated to the nonprofit to help break the cycle of women and child abuse.
The annual tradition was inspired by General Manager Shaun Robinson’s many years working at The Beverly Hilton, which launched Christmas Tree Lane at the iconic Beverly Hills property during the 1990s. The Beverly Hilton partnered with Hollywood celebrities and retail organizations alike, who would donate custom-designed trees and gifts, that were later auctioned to benefit local charitable causes.
In addition to the classic holiday decor, guests can awe over Hilton Anaheim Pastry Department’s three themed gingerbread houses, located within the hotel lobby, created by Pastry Chef Raymund Esguerra and the Hilton Anaheim Pastry Team. As one of the few remaining hotels to create custom cakes and pastries, the three Holiday-themed gingerbread houses showcase the team’s passion, humor, and creativity for design.
Guests of the hotel and the public are encouraged to join in on a lineup of exciting holiday activities; December 2, 3, 8, 9, 22, and 23 live music from a lineup of local musicians will be offered in the lobby from 4pm to 7pm. Additionally, the lobby will feature Christmas carolers ringing in the holidays on December 22 and 23. Holiday activities will also include craft making, face painting, a backdrop for “postcard” photos, and special character appearances on December 2, 3, 8, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 25 through December 31 from 4pm – 7pm. Holiday movies will also be played throughout the hotel lobby through Christmas Day.
“Our tradition of decorating the hotel has been enjoyed by guests for years and we are excited to ring in the holidays and offer our guests an unforgettable experience to create lasting holiday memories during their stay,” said Area Senior Marketing Manager, Dana Khalaf.
