Apple TV+ has unveiled the first teaser for its highly anticipated, nine-episode limited series, “Masters of the Air,” hailing from executive producers Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and written by John Orloff. Starring a stellar cast led by Academy Award nominee Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Academy Award nominee Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook and Ncuti Gatwa, “Masters of the Air” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, January 26, 2024 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through March 15, 2024.
Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, “Masters of the Air” follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air.
Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.
“Masters of the Air” is enormous in both scale and scope and depicts a unique and crucial time in world history. A genuine cinematic achievement, the series shot on locations ranging from the bucolic fields and villages of southeast England to the harsh deprivations of a German prisoner-of-war camp.
Hailing from Apple Studios, “Masters of the Air” is executive produced by Spielberg through Amblin Television, and Hanks and Goetzman for Playtone. Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey co-executive produce alongside Playtone’s Steven Shareshian. In addition to writing, Orloff co-executive produces. Graham Yost also serves as co-executive producer. Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Dee Rees and Tim Van Patten serve as directors.
Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, groundbreaking documentaries, and kids and family entertainment, and is available to watch across all your favorite screens. After its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ became the first all-original streaming service to launch around the world and has premiered more original hits and received more award recognitions faster than any other streaming service in its debut.
To date, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have been honored with 392 wins and 1,631 award nominations and counting, including multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lasso” and historic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”
The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out—but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters.
“Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.” A trailer, poster and film stills are now available for what promises to be the feel-good (or feel-everything) film of Summer 2024.
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up.
And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, “Inside Out 2” releases only in theaters in Summer 2024.

Cultural celebrations in Disney California Adventure Park with Disney Festival of Holidays
Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure Park draws inspiration from the diverse dishes and cherished traditions of Christmas, Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. Offering a feast for the senses, guests can expect to sample new and returning food and beverages such as southern mac and cheese and a beef brisket slider, accompanied by upbeat music at the Palisades Stage, Sonoma Terrace, and for the first time, the Hollywood Backlot, where Disney Festival of Holidays will also be celebrated.
Festivalgoers may purchase a Sip and Savor Pass, which offers eight entitlement tabs that can be shared among friends and family. Valid for the entirety of the Disney Festival of Holidays, foodies may redeem their tabs for select food and nonalcoholic beverages from several marketplaces and select dining locations in Disney California Adventure.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! will return to Paradise Gardens Park for its tenth season, and this year, guests will be able to taste their way through an all-new menu at Paradise Garden Grill. The Three Caballeros will host a joyous street party, featuring Mexican folklórico dancers and mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their holiday best. Additional festivities will include live music and dancing, visits with beloved Disney characters, and special appearances by Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto.”
Festive décor throughout Disneyland Resort
Décor will make the season bright throughout Disneyland Resort, featuring grand Christmas trees decorated with uniquely themed ornaments in both theme parks, the Downtown Disney District, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Disneyland Hotel. Icicles and snow-capped turrets will adorn Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, and at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, a festive gingerbread house will inspire amateur gingerbread architects with its intricate design. With a bit of Disney magic, “snow” is scheduled to fall every night in select areas of Disneyland Park.
Ornaments, lights, and more will also embellish beloved attractions. In Disneyland, a merry boat ride on the wintry waterway of “it’s a small world” Holiday will serenade guests with choruses of jolly tunes. In New Orleans Square, Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” redecorates the Haunted Mansion into the very festive Haunted Mansion Holiday, complete with a hauntingly delightful gingerbread house. Guests can gear up for some cheer in Disney California Adventure on Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree, which will both undergo seasonal spins for the “haul-idays.”
Seasonal spectaculars and entertainment
Mickey Mouse and some of his friends will don all-new outfits in Disneyland, putting a spin on the classic red and green with midcentury modern-inspired looks. Through Dec. 24, Santa Claus will pose for jolly family photos, making stops in Critter Country in Disneyland, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Disneyland Hotel.
“A Christmas Fantasy Parade” will spread holiday cheer in Disneyland Park, starring characters from Disney Animation’s “Frozen,” Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story” and more. The “Believe…In Holiday Magic” nighttime spectacular will illuminate the night sky over Disneyland Park with breathtaking fireworks and sprinklings of snow. For guests who want to add even more holiday magic to their trip, the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour will offer a hosted experience of select seasonal offerings and reserved viewing for “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.”
Multiple times per day, Disney and Pixar characters will march to the festive beat of the Holiday Toy Drummers in “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” in Disney California Adventure. The spirit of togetherness and love will fill Paradise Bay as hundreds of fountains illustrate warm moments from Disney animated films in “World of Color – Season of Light” nighttime spectacular.

In addition to holiday shopping and dining in the Downtown Disney District, guests can groove to various “mistle-toe-tapping” live musical performances on select evenings at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage. On some nights at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel, live entertainment will create a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.
Boo at the Zoo, is the annual Los Angeles Zoo tradition that brings out families from around the region. We got a chance to take in the sights, do some trick-or-treating, and of course, visit all the beloved animals who call the Zoo home.
The Los Angeles Zoo isn’t as famous or broad as her famous sister in San Diego, but it holds its own with a large, meandering park filled with beautiful animals. Its setting in Griffith Park can’t be beat, and you can spend hours following winding paths through dense foliage to discover animal after animal.
But Boo at the Zoo adds even more fun! Here’s what you’ll get to do at no extra cost while visiting the Zoo this weekend:
1 of 3
TRICK-OR-TREATING (10 AM – 3 PM)
We had low expectations for this but wow were we pleasantly surprised. Mars is the official sponsor of the three candy locations, and they were not shy about piling great candy into every kid’s (and grownup’s) bags! The Zoo warns that free bags aren’t available, but on the date of our visit LA Care Health Plan had booths near every candy station to distribute free reusable bags, suitable for trick-or-treating.
We walked away with loads of great, brand-name candy, and it was free! Our daughter loved getting some extra trick-or-treating in, and costumes are encouraged.
EXTINCT ANIMAL GRAVEYARD
Near the first trick-or-treat station is a kind of morbid display of tombstones showcasing extinct animal species. It was really interesting to look through, and of course, part of the Zoo’s mission is to keep that list from getting any longer!
SPOOKY STORY TIME
At Treetop Terrace, next to the beautiful carousel, there are a couple of “spooky” story readings for kids each day. Check the schedule when you arrive!
1 of 5
Some really fun photo ops were set up in various locations around the park too!
We weren’t able to catch everything going on for Boo at the Zoo, but there are scheduled animal feedings with “seasonal treats,” science demos from NASA/JPL, and more! We can’t recommend Boo at the Zoo enough for your Halloween weekend plans. See you at the Zoo!

Return to Whoville this holiday season, as Fathom Events and Universal Studios present the beloved classic “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”—sneaking back into theaters nationwide on Sunday, December 3 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time and Wednesday, December 6 at 7 pm local time. Tickets are available for purchase now via the Fathom Events website.
Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard brings Dr. Seuss’ beloved tale to life, starring comedy titan Jim Carrey as the titular ne’er-do-well who watches the good people of Whoville with contempt from atop his icy lair.
Itching to ruin the Who’s Christmas plans, the green-skinned king of sinful sots schemes to undeck their halls and make their yuletide less jolly. Meanwhile, young Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) is on a mission of her own to find the true meaning of Christmas—a quest that may very well throw a wrench into the Grinch’s putrid plot.
The film boasts Oscar-winning makeup by legendary artist Rick Baker and whimsical sets straight from the pages of Seuss, with narration by film legend Anthony Hopkins, and a star-studded ensemble that includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Molly Shannon, Christine Baranski, and Clint Howard.

Favorite Pixar Stories Abound in the New Pixar Place Hotel Lobby
Pixar Place Hotel will evoke the inspiration and humor that goes into every Pixar film while celebrating the artistic process. Showcasing early sketches to finished design, the art and decor will highlight vibrant Pixar stories, revealing some never-before-seen artwork.
When the lobby is complete, guests will see even more unique art inspired by Pixar films. They will be greeted by the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball, with an imaginative mobile of beloved Pixar characters floating from the bright skylight above. The mobile will depict the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking when animators create the characters’ designs with their most basic shapes and colors. We’ll see the characters at the beginning of their journey, just as the guests who step into the lobby begin their own story at the Disneyland Resort!
First Look at a Reimagined Guest Room Featuring Iconic Pixar Characters
Here’s a colorful peek inside one of the guest rooms! From pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball to lighting reminiscent of the Pixar Lamp, there will be whimsical nods to the animation studio throughout these comfortable and contemporary accommodations. Some of the art was even created by Pixar Animation Studios artists expressly for Pixar Place Hotel! The headboards will consist of concept art from various Pixar features, including “The Incredibles,” “Toy Story 3” and more that are arranged in order from warm to cool colors, sharing the importance of color to the tone of a scene.
Great Maple Opening Soon, Plus More Snacking Details Revealed
Opening in November, Great Maple restaurant will bring its innovative menu of upscale comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This modern American eatery will serve a robust selection of dishes made from scratch daily including the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs, Charred Cauliflower Hummus, Maple Pecan-Crusted Salmon, Market Fish, a variety of inspired salads, and my favorite, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts!
A few weeks after the ground-floor flagship eatery opens, more culinary delights also operated by Great Maple will open. A new grab-and-go coffee shop in the lobby called Sketch Pad Café will serve assorted pastries accompanied by a selection of coffee and tea. Plus, an all-new menu will debut at the rooftop pool bar to be named Small Bytes, serving up salads, wraps, assorted cheese plates, and more which you can enjoy with signature beverages.
Pixar-Themed Offerings You Can Enjoy Now

Recently opened for guests of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, this rooftop oasis features Pixel Pool, which is lined with relaxing loungers, along with Nemo’s Cove pop-jet splash pad, and the not-to-miss Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, a 186-foot-long waterslide inspired by the coolest sea turtle in the ocean. The adjacent play court and pool bar will open later this fall.
Near the pool, gather with friends on comfy couches surrounding firepits inspired by some of Pixar’s more hotheaded characters, including Jack-Jack from Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and Anger from Pixar’s “Inside Out.”
Back in the lobby, browse through the new gift shop STOR-E — a playful take on the Pixar film name “WALL-E” — featuring Pixar-themed apparel and toys, plus more Disneyland Resort souvenirs and sundries.
Plus, a new and expanded fitness center recently opened, offering treadmills, free weights, and more complimentary for hotel guests. Keep an eye out for a mural of Mike and Sulley running on a treadmill, inspired by Pixar’s “Monsters University.”
