Walt Disney World Announces Return of New Annual Pass Sales

New sales of the Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Sorcerer Pass and Disney Pirate Pass will resume and can be purchased online beginning on April 20! The quantity of passes will be limited and passes, or a pass type, may become unavailable for purchase at any time.*

For eligible DVC Members, they have the opportunity to purchase the DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass online beginning April 13 as part of their Membership Magic benefits.**

“We are so grateful for our Passholders who have a deep, strong connection to Walt Disney World, and we are looking forward to welcoming more of you to the Annual Passholder family, just in time to experience the feelings of a Disney Thrill this spring and summer.” Stated Disney.

It’s an incredible time to be a part of the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder program as the feedback received from Annual Passholders is making exciting changes. Passholders now receive access to select Disney PhotoPass benefits (age restrictions apply) and, beginning April 18, Annual Passholders can visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Pass block-out dates continue to apply.

These updates will help Passholders enjoy some of the newest Walt Disney World experiences. Disney is celebrating the return of the “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park, the world’s first Toy Story-themed table-service restaurant Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened just a few weeks ago, and Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is coming later this year to EPCOT. This month will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Hyundai Reveals IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Concept

The car features special Disney-inspired visual accents and entertainment including lighting and iconic Disney music. This is the first time ever that Hyundai vehicle designers have created a vehicle with visual creative input from Walt Disney Imagineering. Hairspray Performs at Segerstrom Center for the Arts April 18

HAIRSPRAY, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon is coming to Costa Mesa. This new North American tour, helmed by original director Jack O’Brien and original choreographer Jerry Mitchell, will play from April 18 – 30, 2023.

It is the 22nd longest-running show in Broadway history.

The Muppets Mayhem Premieres May 10 on Disney+

Disney+ announced the highly anticipated Original series “The Muppets Mayhem,” starring Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, and The Electric Mayhem Band, which will premiere with all episodes on Wednesday, May 10. The Disney+ Original series from Disney Branded Television is produced by ABC Signature and The Muppets Studio.

“The Muppets Mayhem” follows The Electric Mayhem Band — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone, and Lips on trumpet — on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora Singh (Singh), the old-school Muppet band comes face-to-face with the current-day music scene as they try to finally record their first studio album.

“The Muppets Mayhem” stars Lilly Singh (“A Little Late with Lilly Singh”) as Nora, Tahj Mowry (“Baby Daddy”) as Moog, Saara Chaudry (“The Mysterious Benedict Society”) as Hannah, Bill Barretta as Dr. Teeth, Dave Goelz as Zoot, Eric Jacobson as Animal, Peter Linz as Lips, David Rudman as Janice, Matt Vogel as Floyd Pepper and recurring guest star Anders Holm (“Workaholics”) as JJ.

Indiana Jones will return to the Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of Lucasfilm’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” starring Harrison Ford as the legendary hero archaeologist and directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”), on Thursday, May 18.

The highly anticipated final installment of the beloved franchise–a big, globe-trotting, rip-roaring cinematic adventure—will screen out of competition. “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” will open in theaters on June 30.

Mangold said, “In 1995, I was honored to come to Cannes with my first film as part of Director’s Fortnite. Twenty-eight years later, I am proud to return with a slightly larger spectacle. My legendary collaborators and I are very excited to share a brand new and final Indiana Jones adventure with you!”

Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”).

Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981, has once again composed the score.

Experience Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at El Capitan Theatre

The El Capitan Theatre is offering a three-movie marathon and two fan event screenings for Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” The events will be hosted by Nerdist. All tickets for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” are on sale now.

The marathon will start at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3. Tickets are $75 and include a snapback bat, mini poster, collectible tin with unlimited popcorn, event credential, snack and two beverages. Guests attending this event will be among the first to see “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” after watching “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1” and “Vol. 2.”

The fan event screenings will take place at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5 each with their own exclusive items included with a ticket. Each fan event screening costs $50.

  • Attendees at the Thursday Fan Event will receive one assorted Funko Pop, a mini poster, collectible tin with popcorn, an event credential, and a beverage with their ticket.
  • Attendees at the Friday Fan Event will receive a Milky Fizz beverage sipper, collectible tin with popcorn, an event credential, and a beverage with their ticket.

Moviegoers should bring their best moves for out-of-this-world tunes played by the theatre’s DJ live May 4 through 7. Fans are encouraged to cosplay as their favorite Marvel characters throughout the movie’s run.

BREAKING: Disney Announces Live Action “Moana”

Dwayne Johnson revealed in a recorded message from Hawaii that a live-action reimagining of Disney Animation’s 2016 hit feature film “Moana” is in development. The announcement was shared by Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger during The Walt Disney Company’s Meeting of Shareholders Webcast.

The new feature film is produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia via their Seven Bucks Productions and Beau Flynn via Flynn Picture Co. Executive producers include Auli‘i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the 2016 film, and Scott Sheldon of Flynn Picture Co. Jared Bush and Samoan industry pro-Dana Ledoux Miller will also take part in the production. Bush, who was a director and co-writer of Disney’s Oscar®-winning feature “Encanto” and a writer and co-director of Disney’s Oscar®-winning film “Zootopia,” wrote the screenplay for 2016’s “Moana.”

Like its animated predecessor, the film will celebrate the islands, communities, and traditions of Pacific Islanders as seen through the eyes of a young woman eager to pave her own path. Moana’s journey of self-discovery and reflection on the lives of her ancestors won hearts worldwide, as did her newfound friendship with an exiled demigod named Maui.

Johnson, who plans to return to the fictional world to set sail with Moana, said, “I’m deeply humbled and overcome with gratitude to bring the beautiful story of Moana to the live-action big screen. This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people’s grace and warrior strength.”

I’m looking forward to sharing her story in a whole new way.”

Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production (Disney Live Action), said the film would join a successful lineup of live-action adaptations that include 2017’s “Beauty and the Beast,” 2019’s “Aladdin” and the highly anticipated live-action version of “The Little Mermaid,” opening May 26. “It’s still early, but the idea of working with these fantastic partners to tell such a meaningful story on a live-action canvas, particularly as we celebrate 100 years of storytelling at Disney, is thrilling,” said Bailey.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana” debuted in theaters on Nov. 23, 2016, grossing nearly $644 million at the global box office. The title, which debuted on Disney+ with the streamer’s 2019 launch, is among the top 15 movies streamed in the United States in 2022. The film’s soundtrack, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, was lauded worldwide.

Miranda won a GRAMMY® for best song written for visual media (“How Far I’ll Go”), and an Oscar® nomination for best achievement in music written for motion pictures – original song (“How Far I’ll Go”). In 2021, the “Moana” soundtrack broke a Billboard Soundtrack chart record for the amount of time spent at number one (52 weeks). Additionally, the film was nominated for an Academy Award (best-animated feature film of the year), a BAFTA (best-animated feature film), and a pair of Golden Globes® (best motion picture – animated and best original song (“How Far I’ll Go”)).
